Featured in the all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE, the E-Active Body Control offers three handling characteristics, all adjustable from the MBUX Infotainment console. The E-Active software gives you the confidence to handle the toughest of road conditions. These three features are:
- Rocking Mode: As the name suggests, the GLE will automatically create a rocking motion when activated. This is used when you are stuck in deep mud or snow. This motion with minor acceleration will create traction, allowing you to drive away with ease.
- Individual Wheel Actuation: Adjustable from your Infotainment screen, this mode allows you to adjust the height and clearance of each individual wheel. This mode is ideal for uneven road conditions/surfaces.
- Rear-end lowering: This setting allows the driver to lower the rear axle of the GLE when loading or unloading. With this, the GLE has the ability to lower its rear-end by 40mm with a max lower setting of 70mm. This feature is disabled when towing
In addition to the E-Active Body Control suspension and AIRMATIC system, the GLE features two incredibly innovative features, furthering your driving experience. The first being, Curve Tilting, which limits body roll during fast cornering or aggressive maneuvering when avoiding an accident or obstruction. The second is Road Surface Scan, which will automatically adjust your vehicle’s suspension to match road conditions for increased traction and vehicle control.
