We are delighted that you have accepted our invitation to play in the MercedesTrophy Golf Tournament on Tuesday, August 14, at Eagle Creek Golf Club. Please review the following information about the tournament.

RULES

The tournament will be played in accordance with the rules of Golf Canada and the course rules of the host club. The tournament committee holds the final decision on regulation rulings.

SCORING

Scoring will be conducted by Ace Tournament Services (ATS). Each tournament will be played using players’ full handicaps over 18 holes using the Stableford format. ATS will convert each player’s handicap factor to determine a course handicap. If a player does not have a handicap factor, the ATS system will automatically determine a player’s handicap based on the individual’s tournament score. Please remember to bring your signed Golf Canada handicap factor card.

QUALIFYING

Dealer Qualifying Tournaments will be played in two categories, Gross and Net, with one winner from each going on to the next stage. The Gross and Net winners will be eligible to participate in the all-new MercedesTrophy Regional Qualifying Tournament from August 26 to 27, at Chateau Montebello.

Winners from the Regional Qualifying Tournaments will be treated to the ultimate Canadian golf experience at the National Final, hosted this year at Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs in Cape Breton, NS, from September 10 to 13, 2018.

Three National Final winners will fly to Stuttgart, Germany, from October 2 to 7, 2018, to represent Team Canada at the World Final. This exclusive tournament will see the team compete against more than 60 countries, each of which aims to earn the prestigious Nations Cup.

Please note that each participant is permitted to compete a total of two times in the Regional Qualifying Tournaments, twice in the National Final, and once in the World Final.

DRIVE TO THE MAJORS

Competing at this prestigious local event will give you an opportunity to participate in a closest-to-the-line contest, whose winner will be entered into a draw for passes to the 2019 British Open, the oldest golf competition in the world.
